VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools)

HISD requires that all volunteers complete an online orientation and application for the safety of our students.  Volunteer opportunities include helping in the library, chaperoning a field trip, participating in a class party, etc.  Please take a few minutes to click on the following link to register for the 2025-26 school year.  *VIPS registration must be renewed every school year.

It is a two-step process: 

1. Complete the Orientation 
2. Fill out the application (the application link is posted at the bottom under the certificate)

• At the “School Preferences” tab, select Rice School
• At the “Functions” tab, check every function
• At the “Organizations” tab, select VIPS (Volunteers In Public Schools)
